FeelingChallenged

“Happiness is not the absence of problems; it’s the ability to deal with them.” – Steve Maraboli

Life sometimes has a way of testing us in our most challenging hours. The feeling of being pushed down when we’ve just gained footing or traction in our career or business. An unexpected setback that leads to a domino effect of things going all the way wrong in our life. Too many obligations has us drained or stressed trying to do everything for everyone. Our vision can get so cloudy as a result of all these challenges that we loose sight of our goals and sometimes feel like abandoning our dreams all together.

I know the feeling. I have been there. As a working mom trying to develop and grow a business, there are days where I feel like taking flight. I know what I want and am willing to put in the work necessary to make it happen but I get distracted by the noise around me. Life and its responsibilities can often have me feeling side-tracked.

In theses moments, I take a deep breath, look inward, remember my goal and push back.

I know that to be successful, I have to be resilient in the face of challenges. I have to remain positive in the face of adversity. I understand that my thoughts lead to reactions and if I’m not careful my thoughts may lead me to feel hopeless, powerless.

You were up for a promotion but didn’t get it – make the changes necessary to create a different outcome next time around.

Your business isn’t doing as well as before and your finances have taken a huge hit – know that you are not alone. Many business have experienced similar setbacks and there are those who took the necessary steps to change it’s course and succeeded.

These situations, along with anything else you might be going through, are not permanent. They do not define you, what your capable of achieving or who you will eventually become. What you do in the face of these challenges will plant the seeds of continued growth

If your present situation doesn’t evoke positive feelings, think of all the things you have to be grateful for. As stated by Valorie Burton “Gratification is an element of happiness.” Be grateful for your health, supportive family and friends and all the small things that you have going for you on a daily basis. You have the power to choose your actions, reactions and thoughts.

Have you ever felt back against a wall? How did you manage to overcome that challenge and move forward?
