Have you ever wondered what sets high achieving, trailblazing women apart and on the path to the c-suite?
There is no doubt that if we you take a look inside your company, you will undoubtedly find women who are strong performers and can deliver results. Who have the necessary skills to lead the company at the executive level. However many lack access to these opportunities because of two critical things: mentors and sponsors.
Mentors and, most notably for women, sponsors have the power to help advance your career exponentially. Many women’s leap in leadership would not have been possible if it had not been for a sponsor who actively championed for their appointment.
It’s not easy to find a sponsor, that I can attest. It requires that you build strong relationships with the leaders in your organization, that you perform and that you earn their trust.
My guest on this episode is Tania Clarke, CFO of Imvescor Restaurant Group Inc., a franchise and licensing business in the family and casual dining restaurant industry. If you want to know how what it takes to advance into the c-suite, watch this episode.
Tania and I also talk about:
- The important skills women need to master to get ahead
- Balancing family and career on the executive path
- The challenges of being a female CFO in Montreal
Now we’d like to hear from you.
What’s your biggest insight or take-away from this episode? What resonated most with you about what Tania and I discussed? Let me know in the comments below.
Thank you for watching, sharing and taking this conversation back into your community so that we can continue to see diverse female faces at all levels of the corporate leadership pipeline.
To your deserving success and happiness,
RG
So proud of Tanya Clarke; a role model for both men and woman….but especially for women…my take away and my Mantra is to be ready for opportunities….and say YES….unlike men, women think they are “not ready yet”…men learn on the job!! Tanya was always involved in Community and is a perfect example of how to mesh a multifaceted full life and thrive!! Kudos to her.
Saying YES is so important Brenda. Thanks for sharing your mantra and contributing to this conversation. Tania is an amazing example of what’s possible for women when they persevere and show up authentically.
