Yesterday, I had a gym date with my good friend whose a weight loss technician. Working out always has a way of making me feel energized but it’s getting on the scale afterwards that also has me a little annoyed. I know that the number on the scale is not a true indicator of my workout progress but it’s often hard to neglect. So when I got home yesterday to find that my partner, who has never had to lose weight in his life, had bought of all things CAKE to eat after supper I had to pass. Knowing what you can and can’t eat and when is an important part of trying to stay healthy and maintaining or losing weight.

Balancing a career and a healthy lifestyle takes practice. Staying fit and active should never be neglected. Especially after having a baby, when you may not feel at your physical best (which is normal since you’ve just given birth to one of the most precious things on earth!) Sometimes we fall off track, loose motivation or feel the need to drop 2 dress sizes in a short period of time.

We see the images of women 3 months after having a baby or after training for only 1 month and think that because we haven’t lost significant weight that it’s not worth it. We have to hold ourselves to our own standards. I know that losing weight is a process that requires a healthy balance of exercise and eating right. And, I’m willing to put in the necessary work required. Whether is finding a work out partner to help give you the motivation or taking a fitness class or personal trainer that holds you accountable for attending classes.

So next time you see that piece of cake or cookie, think about your goal. Envision success and walk away.
